The new 1962 model features a number of improvements which go far beyond the scope of optional accessories. With Safety and Comfort in mind, convenience for the driver which can only be fully appreciated upon driving the car were introduced.

NEW DETAILS ON MODEL 1962

1. The windshield of the Coupe and Hardtop has been enlarged so that even the smallest and largest drivers have unimpared vision. Traffic lights as well as small children are easily visible.
2. The rear window of the Coupe and Hardtop has also been enlarged to give better all around vision in city traffic. Especially when parking, the large window will be appreciated.
3. The fresh air vent in front of the windshield gives ample ventilation to the passenger compartment.
4. A new low fuel tank gives a larger luggage space and brings the fuel filler spout outside of the car.
5. A larger front lid furnishes easy access to the spare tire as well as increasing accessibility of the luggage space.
6. The fuel filler cap is now located in the fender where a lid released from inside the car secures the fuel tank.
7. The double grill previously used only on the engine compartment cover of the Carrera is now standard on all models.
8. A two tone rear view mirror when set in the dim position filters out the glare of the headlights from behind.
9. The finishing touch was added to the different models by:
   • A zipper around the rear section of the Cabriolet convertable top allows the back to be dropped inward for pleasant open ventilation without the wind usually associated with an open car.
   • An electric clock is standard in all models.
   • A latch to secure the backrests of the car against folding forward prevent passengers or luggage from falling over the front seats in emergency braking.
   • A gear shift lock has made the car even more theft proof.
   • A variable speed windshield wiper system keeps the windshield clear in even the worst weather. On the other hand in a light rain the wipers do not have to race back and forth unnecessarily.
10. An electric sliding roof can be had as optional equipment on the Coupe and Hardtop.

When it is considered that fine craftsmanship is a standard at the Porsche factory it will become evident that there are many more improvements in small details which will only be appreciated with time. It is this quality which makes the Porsche superior to any other car in its field.
