Built in 1937 at the H.A. Long boatyard in Olympia, WA, this classic plank-on-frame, Bridge Deck cruiser continues to ply the waters of Puget Sound.

In the mid 80's she laid up in the boatyard for a complete refit of her machinery - including new diesel engines, reduction gears, and electronic systems. Her hull was also reworked, having some new planking added and all the steel fasteners removed and replaced with silicon bronze.

With an overall length of 46', a beam of 11', and a draft of 4', the M/V Viking takes on the appearance of a needle. The hull is extremely stout, being built of yellow cedar planks on oak frames. Equipped with Isuzu Diesel mains and 24x20 propellers, she has a top speed of 12 knots, and cruises at 10 knots. At cruising speed the two Isuzus will burn 5 gallons per hour, allowing her a range of just under 500 miles.

The cabin can accommodate 6 people, with a double-bunk in the forward and aft staterooms, and 2 in the galley area. The galley has a propane stove/oven refrigerator and deep freeze.
